Unwrapping the iPad

April 3, 2010 No comments yet

We pre-ordered an iPad the day they went on pre-order… and after a month’s wait it is finally here.

We are officially donating this device to a local non-profit, Vocational Visions, to be raffled off at their annual fundraiser later this month.

All we can say about this is that it is an amazing peice of technology. If you want to get more information about it  visit Apple’s website here.

Vocational Visions

Update (4/26/2010):

The talented team at Vocational Visions put on a great fundraising event last Saturday, and had a very successful evening.

There was a ton of guests (including the mayor of Mission Viejo!), a Lakers suite up for auction, and of course the iPad that Trendworks donated.  Since they are still a bit hard to attain, this $499 + iTunes gift card went for over $800!  Congratulations to the winner and to Vocational Visions for putting on such a great event!

Cisco UC560 Product Overview

Everyone at Trendworks is pretty excited about the new arrival of the Cisco UC560 unified communications device.

We recently were fortunate enough to land a major project to upgrade the phone infrastructure at a company in Mission Viejo, CA with 2 buildings.   Currently, each building has a standalone, separate phone system each unaware of the other.  With the UC560, we are able to replace both independent phone systems with a single device.  This will give our client the ability to:

  • Consolidate all incoming calls to 1 receptionist
  • Consolidate phone lines from both buildings into 1, providing savings on their monthly phone services
  • Allow employees to reach each other by phone extension as if they all worked in the same building
  • Take advantage of additional functionality from the newer technology of this system

The UC560 is the next product in the line of the Cisco Unified Communications 500 family, and has much more to offer than its predecessors and most other phone systems on the market today.  This device can support up to 120 VOIP phones, can be equipped with up to two T1-E1 PRI interfaces, and has a built-in VPN interface allowing for remote workers to connect in without the need for extra equipment.

For more details on the UC560, see the Cisco product datasheet here:
